The model
Dealers already pay about $6 a click and about $100 to acquire a quote. A studied material-handling dealer turned roughly ten qualified meetings a month into a low-teens close rate on packages around $21,000. You should not outbid them for the click if usedforktruck.com can catch the same person and hand the yard a named request.
Do not stock iron. A 5,000 lb truck is a five-figure asset with freight and a buyer who wants to inspect. Fake stock numbers are how this category gets people robbed. The site refuses that on purpose.
Unit economics to defend
- State seat: $1,250 a month. Six seats is $7,500 before a lead fee. That is the month-1 job.
- Buyer introduction after the trial: keep it exclusive. Do not drop to a shared $30 lead. Shared leads teach buyers to ignore the phone.
- Seller introduction: $295 once photos are asked for. Yards pay more for iron they can buy than for a tire-kicker.
- Fleet: quote a single-digit percent in writing before any name is shared. Eight trucks at $18,000 is $144,000 of iron. Four percent is about $5,800. One file can beat a month of seats.
- Finance: introduction only. You are not a lender. Do not advertise a rate.
Ninety days
- Week 1. Publish, point the domain, and call independent yards in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Kentucky. Offer: first ten buyer files in their state free, then $1,250 or stop. Target six yeses. Script is below.
- Week 2. Turn on search only after every form is answered inside 15 minutes. About $150 a day on used forklift, used fork truck, and the capacity phrases. Kill pure rental traffic until a yard agrees to rent through you.
- Weeks 3 and 4. Work the sell page the same day. A fleet manager replacing five trucks is worth more than forty researchers.
- Month 2. Put the six seats in writing. Do not raise the price. Do not buy a marketplace seat until a yard asks you to show their iron, and if they do, say whose iron it is.
- Month 3. If seats plus fees are under $8,000, the leak is speed or sloppy requests, not the type. Tighten budget and week-needed. Drop states that never answer. Do not listen to a domain offer until you have three months of tickets. A developed name with a log is a different asset than a parked one.
Monday script
This is Jeff Brewer in Fort Wayne. I own usedforktruck.com. I am not a dealer and I am not going to scrape your yard. I take named buyer requests, with capacity, fuel, mast, ZIP, and the week they need it, and I give one dealer in that state four hours of first look. The first ten in your state are free so you can see the paper. After that it is $1,250 a month or we stop. Seller leads are separate, $295, because that is iron you can buy. Do you want the first ten?

Buyer, inside 15 minutes: Got it. Ticket number. One dealer in your area, not a blast. You do not pay this desk.
Seller: the screen range, then four photos and the serial before a bid. They can say no to every bid.
Every ticket lands in jeff@hanokventures.co because the live site opens a real email. There is no shared inbox inside the preview. If mail does not open, the ticket is on the screen to copy.
Hard no
- No invented stock, hours, or ships-tomorrow claims.
- No wire for a machine you have not seen. Your fee is not a shipping deposit.
- No bought email list.
- No twelve dealers on one buyer.
